style icon: james woods in videodrome. out of all of cronenberg’s drab, understated leading men, woods is my favorite. woods could (and should) play cronenberg at some point. not in a biopic, but in a vastly more complex ensemble film about the canadian film industry in the late 1970s. think of the cast you could shoe horn into that project! picture woods as david cronenberg, steven buscemi as ivan reitman, and say… jeremy renner as bob clark all sitting down to talk film over those weird canadian bagels and you’ll see what i mean.
